Meet our incredible team and learn all about us

Simon has over a decade’s worth of health and safety experience and is highly qualified in this field. He is a Chartered member of IOSH and is also on the review panel for potential Charterships. Simon concentrates on the health, safety, fire and environmental side of the business but also on the overall strategy.

Our director Cate, along with Simon founded Rhino Safety Limited back in 2015. Cate’s background is education and employment law. She is a qualified coach and lecturer in HR and Employment law. Cate is our Operations Director and manages all the staff, accounts, Networking and business development. Cate also does a lot of public speaking on behalf of Rhino Safety and is a passionate advocate of continuous personal and professional development. Cate was recently announced as one of F:Entrepreneur’s 2019 Top 100 businesswoman! Cate is a Governor at her daughters’ primary school and loves walking her two rescue dogs.

Andrews background has been predominately in the hospitality industry from starting in Hotels in London to cruise ships in the Caribbean to Pubs all over the UK. For the past 17 years Andrew has been delivering Training to all levels of staff and Management in the Licensed Retail Trade via his training company.

Charlie joined in August 2021 as our business development manager. Charlie has an automotive background as well as previously being an HGV driver. Charlie has many years experience in customer service and sales. She will be using the skills she has developed over the years to take on this new role within team rhino. Charlie is a mum of 2 and a strong believer in women can do the same as men.

Julie has over 15 years experience in Online Marketing having worked for Holidaybreak as an Online Content Manager. As our marketing manager Julie is in charge of our social media, digital execution and content creation as well as general marketing and internal and external communications.

Karl joined us in March 2020 as our 5th Health and Safety Consultant. Karl previously worked for a Tipi and Marquee company where he was responsible for all of the on-site health and safety. A large part of Karl’s role also involved customer service and he is going to be a valuable asset to the Consulting team.

Kevin has had a varied background in maintenance, manufacturing, horticulture, waste, recycling, fire and safety consultancy and having previously been a Health, Safety and Environment manager, he can appreciate the difficulties that businesses face when looking for external guidance and support and will be using these skills to assist our clients.

Peter has joined us from the Royal Mail where he lead a safety team as part of a continuous improvement programme. This focused on accident investigation, control measures against accidents, risk assessments and preventative measures in different work areas and implementing active monitoring methods. He also undertook workplace inspections for the plant and collated and stratified all the data from active monitoring, identifying any positive or negative trend. Peter’s experience will help him to hit the ground running with Rhino.

Sarah joined the team in July 2021 as our admin assistant. Sarah has an extensive career in administration and before joining us Sarah was a home administrator for a care home. During her spare time Sarah enjoys walking her rescue dog Kopa, seeing friends and watching sport.

Having worked as part of a team responsible for the health and safety of projects at a prestigious automotive manufacturer, Sarah joined Rhino Safety in December 2017 as a Health & Safety Consultant. Sarah’s role involves assisting clients from a diverse range of industries in all Health & Safety related matters, from inspections and risk assessments, through to SSIP accreditations and accident investigations.

Shirley joined Rhino Safety as our Office Manager in October 2018 and deals with the day-to-day running of the office, including supporting the Rhino team and looking after the accounts function. With her many years of experience within various organisations Shirley brings a wealth of knowledge from the previous roles she has undertaken.

Helen joined our busy admin team back in April 2022 to help with our growing needs in this area. Helen has had a long career in Early Years Education. Her keen eye for detail and amazing organisational skills keep the whole team in check! Helen is a busy mum of three and any spare time is spent with her partner and children.

Liam joined us as Health and Safety Consultant back in July 2022.
Liam’s background is within property services management in the student accommodation market, more recently being involved in the provision and servicing of fire safety systems. In his spare time Liam is an athlete and competes in 200m races.

Having spent 30 years in the Merchant Navy as a Chief Officer responsible for on board H&S and crew welfare. Steve has now come ashore and has recently been involved as an associate lecturer at Liverpool John Moore’s University. He also operates as a Search and rescue Drone pilot.

Alex started with the team at the beginning of September 2022 as an Apprentice Health and Safety Administrator.

Previously she was working two part time jobs around her two young children whilst finishing university. Alex is excited to start her journey in a new career within Health and Safety. When not at work Alex spends most of her free time with her family.

Ryan recently finished his A-levels and has been working in an inbound call centre working with over 70 clients. In his spare time Ryan volunteers as a PI in the Army Cadet Force. He also enjoys playing Airsoft in the countryside and reading.

George joined the team in March from his previous role as Regional HSEQ & Compliance Coordinator and brings with him experience from the construction, recycling, engineering and manufacturing sectors. In his spare time he enjoys staying active and exploring what the Peak District has to offer.

Emma joined the consultant team back in the middle of March from her previous role as a H&S manager. In her free time Emma enjoys music, movies & being outdoors!

Claudia joined our growing team of consultants back in April from her previous role as a SHEQ Coordinator. In her spare time Claudia enjoys running, going to theme parks and spending time with her family.

Archie has just completed his A-levels at Brine Leas Sixth Form. Archie has a number of years experience in the hospitality industry. In his spare time Archie plays football semi-professionally.

Tom joined us at the beginning of September bringing experience from a range of engineering and manufacturing roles, his last role with a large foundry encompassed both laboratory work and health and safety.

Resmal joins us from a background of construction.He has lots of experience in oil and gas, tunnel construction, civil construction and manufacturing.

Mike has joined our client support team. He previously worked within the Leisure and Hospitality sector and brings with him a wealth of experience. In his spare time Mike likes to spend time with his family and watching football
