Manufacturing Health and Safety Risk Assessments

A manufacturing risk assessment is essential for any company in the industry, or indeed for any type of business. • Staff training and supervision

4. Documentation

The manufacturing risk assessment must be a clear, written record of:

• Identified hazards
• Risk ratings
• Controls in place, actions needed and timelines for improvement

This becomes part of your ongoing health and safety management system

5. Review and Update

Risk assessments need to be regularly reviewed, usually annual or especially after:

• Accidents or near-misses
• Changes in equipment, layout, or processes
• Introduction of new materials or substances
